Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her most famous role is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. In the final season of the show Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The series ended August 13th on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as Speech and Family Therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her dad was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
